Tally

Features of Tally: 

1) Tally is an Accounting Software i.e. used to record day to day transaction, preparing balance sheet and etc.

2) It is user friendly business software which makes business easy and faster.

3) Manageing single and multiple groups is very important feature of Tally.

4) It does not require writing special program for calculations.

5) It stores all information about each Account in detail.

6) It reduces work

                            In manual process, after entering daily transaction user have to create Trading A/c, Profit & loss A/c, Trial Balance and etc. But in Tally user has to enter daily entries and balance sheet get calculated automatically.

7) It also supports various fonts and language like hindi, marthi, Tamil, Telugu, kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati and etc. i.e. Multilingual is the main advantage of Tally.

Opening screen of Tally:

a) When Tally is opened in windows environment, it shows different menus.

b) The top bar contains the product message and version, system date and time.

c) Then opening screen displays main three parts as follows: 

1) Gateway of Tally

2) Function buttons

3) calculator (Area Command)

1) Gateway of Tally:

   a) To the left hand side of the screen, it shows different options.

b) All these options are used to create Ledgers, groups or to see trial balance or balance sheet.

c) To the right hand side of the screen, this part shows the list of all companies and at the top it shows name of selected Company.

d) CTRL+M is a Shortcut Key to activate gateway of Tally.

2) Function Buttons:

a) This part of screen shows the list of all function keys with its users.

b) By selecting the buttons, user can activate that particular function like backup, change etc.

3) Calculator (command area): 

a) This part of the screen is actual command area.

b) In this area, user can type Commands and execute them.

c) CTRL+N activate this area.
